Tired of cleaning up cat hairball vomit?
By MaggieM onI must first start by saying that if your cat is vomiting on a regular basis you should first take him/her to a veterinarian before you assume it is only due to hairballs.
Let's start with a little anatomy lesson.Cats have rough tongues, anyone licked by a cat knows this. The purpose of the roughness is to help them with thier grooming. The roughness helps pull loose hair from the fur.Where does the loose hair go?They swallow it and it makes it's way down into the gastrointestinal tract. The hair is not easily digested so a lot of times it builds up and ends up causing the cat problems- anything from constipation, to straining for bowl movements, coughing and my favorite, vomiting.
Well ladies and gentlemen this can all be avoided by using a product such as Petromalt. It is a flavored mineral oil based petroleum jelly that acts as a lubricant laxative. To get rid of the hairball problem simply give your cat a 1 inch sized ribbon daily until he/she stops vomiting. To prevent the problem from reoccurring give it to your cat 2-3 times a week, in addition to brushing his/her fur on a regular basis.
The best part, well besides not having to clean up disgusting vomit that looks like pieces of wet, hairy poo, is that most cats love it and will lick it right off your finger. For the more stubborn than usual cat you can either rub it on their mouth or paw, or somewhere where they will lick it off.
As a Veterinary Technician I can tell you from years of experience this product works great.I have used it on my own cats for years. No more gagging from vomit clean up duty for me!The price is great and it comes in two sizes.Since you only need to use a little bit each week one 2 oz tube can last you for months!
So take my advice and give yourself, and your furry little friend, a break from hairball vomit and try Petromalt today!

Wow! this sounds like a great product! Haveing two cats and two small children that crawl around on the floor, eat things off the floor etc.. nothing grosses me out more than seeing a hairball near them.. yuck! I will have to try this one! Thanks for the information! Nicely written.
Our little Siberian has only had one tiny hairball so far. But if she does get more, I'll buy this. Poor kitty, she looked like her guts were trying to climb out of her throat.
Oh man, I am so going to get some of this! Your description of hairballs is so accurate I had to laugh, anything to stop the recurrance of this disgusting phenomenon is something that I'm totally interested in.
Boy, do I ever know exactly what you mean. And, yes, cats either love it or run under the bed at the sight of the tube but it does work.
