To hold friends' gifts

I have some longtime family friends coming to town. Originally, I wanted to make them baskets with lots of souvenirs from my state. While I was shopping, I noticed that baskets were kind of expensive, so I held off on those for a little while to see if I could find any other viable options.

I saw these pretty bags at the store and they were a better price than the baskets. They also could be used later for groceries or to carry library books, etc.

I really like the damask pattern on the bags. It's one of my favorite prints. While sifting through all them, I was able to find one letter "C". That was perfect because one of my friend's names starts with this letter.

Ideally, I would have liked to have all the bags be in the same color, with an initial on it, but, I couldn't find the letters "E" or "V", so I had to think of another plan. I noticed these other bags that had the same print on the main bag, but were in the very vivid colors, magenta and orange. The smaller bags in the set had a plain dark pink background with orange diamonds over it. They say: Dream, Hope, Inspire on the front.

I really like the bags. They are pretty and are more personalized than a plain basket. They have strong sititching on them, so they should last a while. The big bag measures 15.5" tall by 14" wide. The small bag measures 10" tall by 8" wide.
