Tom Tom One Turns Getting Lost Into An Adventure! By Hookdonwdw on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Some men (and women!) hate to ask for directions. I can't count the number of times we've been on a roadtrip, and I've been annoyed with driving in circles, trying to figure out how to get to our destination. So I must admit, that I was slightly selfish this past Christmas, when I purchased the Tom Tom ONE 3rd Edition for my husband. This GPS unit has surpassed all of our expectations. It is small and compact, and easy to store - it slips right into your purse, glove compartment or pocket when leaving the car. Having used several GPS units in the past, I was pleased with how quickly this unit locked onto sattelites. I also like how quickly it will redirect you. On our old Magellan unit, the screen would blank out while re-routing. The TOM TOM displays a small message, and quickly gets you back on track and back to finding your destination... and best of all, it has yet to tell me that I need to execute a U-Turn in order to get there! The only negative that I have noticed is that there are not as many POA's (points of interest) loaded into the system. But given the size, quickness and accuracy of the unit, I can live without always knowing where the nearest burger joint is.

You can count me as one of those guys that hates asking for directions. I like the way that you said that this model quickly reroutes you if you've missed your destination. I'll be sure to check this model out when the time comes for me to buy my first GPS. Thanks!
LOL, I got tickled at your first line, my husband and I BOTH hate asking for directions. The worst is when we got turned around in a very bad neighborhood in Atlanta not so long ago. This would of come in SO handy.
It would be nice to have a GPS. I hate getting lost!
Sounds like the quick response of this one is a winner!
I hope one day these will be standard in cars!! Good for you in being "selfish" & getting this for your husband!
I have been researching GPS systems since we are going to get one in the future, I keep hearing good things about this brand also.
