Tom Waits Closing Time By WreathofBarbs on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"Closing Time" was Tom Waits' first foray into music. What not many people know of this underrated singer-songwriter is that he exploded onto the scene with more originality than most could ever dream up. With a unique voice, drifting from gravel-throated blues to piano rock mellow and into the perfect voice from swing music, this album keeps you enthralled. From the soothing Ol' 55, to eventually be covered by the Eagles, to I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You, the album is calming. Peaceful. Then the likes of Ice Cream Man makes you want to dance till you're too drunk to dance anymore. Everyone should own this album. It's criminal not to. So come check out Tom Waits before he picked up his trademark bourbon soaked growl.
