This is the Toro 12" Trim & Edge Trimmer, Item # 51352. For the refurbished item, it is Item # 51352A.

This is great for trimming heavy weeds and grasses in your yard. It has an adequate 3.8 AMP motor for most tasks. The top handle has an erergonomic trigger grip, which makes it easy to hold. The snap-on assist handle gives you even more control of trimmer. A cord lock system is built into the handle that holds some extra extension cord to prevent accidental disconnects. Think of a retractable pet leesh.

The body of the trimmer is made of a light-weight but very hard and durable plastic.

The trimmer uses a nylon string on a spool that snaps onto the bottom of the trimmer. What's cool is that it offers a no tool spool replacement. Just snap and turn - done! The string needs to be advanced occasionally, as it wears down from cutting. With this trimmer, you jump tap the underside of the trimmer on the ground and it advancess with an easy bump-feed line advance. No bending down or scissors required!

We bought this trimmer direct from the manufacturers website (shoptoro.com). The stores stocks this new for $36.99 but we bought it refurbished for almost half the price, at $19.99. It is just as good as the new product. Of course, shipping is extra but their ground shipping is very low, at only $6.95, which also included an extra trimmer replacement spool.

Item # 88035 is the trimmer replacement spool for this trimmer and many of Toro's 10" - 15" electric trimmers. The spools are pre-wound and ready for use without tools. Just remove the used spool and snap the new one on. Each spool has 30 feet of .056" premium trimmer line. Spools cost $7.00.

It is a bit loud but not deafening.

We've owned the trimmer for a year without problems. We used it about two dozen times and haven't needed to replace the spool. There is still plenty of line left, so each spool probably won't need to be replaced for a few years of use. Be at ease with the 2-year full warranty.
