Toro Saves My Back! By kateri27 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
We recently moved into a home with a 150 foot driveway and in Cleveland that is a heck of a lot of shoveling.
I hate to pay full price for things so I immediately went onto Craig list and started looking for a used snow blower. We were so lucky, in part because it was so late in the season, to get a ten year old Toro snow blower for $20.
The snow blower has a gas and an electric start. It is a two stage unit, and despite its age it runs fabulously once you get it started. It cleans our driveway after just one pass. I love this.
With everything that you buy used it is not perfect. We are going to need to replace the electric starter before we use it again next season. The muffler is also pretty much shot which accounts for the loudness of the Toro Snow blower.
Overall even with the downfalls for $20 not waking up the next morning with a painful backache makes this a steal!!!
Toro S200 Purchased at: craigslist.org Price: $20 (used)

Great idea shopping on Craigslist! Glad you found something that works for you... you probably get a lot of snow in Cleveland! Thanks for sharing your insight!
One pass? How wide is the intake!!! What a great deal, even after some repairs.
My hubby used to do our long driveway by hand. It's a lot of work! Glad you found a great alternative. It was a snowy winter in Ohio this year, you were lucky to have the snowblower!
Wow 150' driveway, that is alot of shuffling. Sounds like the machine could use some work but for $20 if it shaves your back, it's a great deal.
Wow what a find! We have one of those huge snowblowers. It sat in the shed all winter. It is big and bulky and hard to move up to the house. Most times when we bring it up, it never snows. This year would have been a perfect time to bring it up to the house. I think maybe we should sell this one and downsize to something smaller that I can handle!
Sounds like a great snow blower and has a great price. My hubby hates shoveling snow. We are looking into buying a snow blower before next winter. Thanks for sharing this information.
Great buy, can't beat the price and can' beat the fact that you don't have to shovel snow. I hate shoveling and love that I have a snow blower! Thanks
Now I call this a fabulous deal!! This blower will really save you lots of backaches!!
that sounds like a wonderful find. $20 for a snowblower is nothing to complain about, even with the parts you are going to have to replace ;) Great find!
Even if you only end up using it for this year it was still a heck of a bargain. I have never been on Craigslist I might have to start looking.
