Toshiba Gigabeat M530 Vw Review By lordofdarkness66 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
30GB. An amazing memory size for a media player like this. The Toshiba Gigabeat M530VW is yet another media player from Toshiba's Gigabeat series of players. It is a music and video player, a photo viewer and even supports some form of subscription for all three from what I've read, although I haven't tried it. It has an FM tuner and has software to facilitate transfer of pictures from a digital camera. The Portable Media Center Operating System supposedly makes the player 'smart'. The 2.4" screen has a good resolution and the JPEG pictures viewed look great and colorful. However there are setbacks to this player. It doesn't have audio or video recording features. Even the FM recording feature is missing in an advanced player like this. Battery life is very low when playing videos, just a little above two hours. Speaking of videos, it can only play WMV format videos. Personally, I haven't seen a video in that format even though I've heard of it. All my videos are either in AVI, MPEG or MP4 format and this is just disappointing. A good player but there are better players than this. Not something I would recommend.
