Touch Viva Of Htc By msculit on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have been searching for the right mobile phone to use after my very reliable and durable Sony Ericsson P900. I guess I have already set my mind to just using Sony Ericsson that after that, I bought Samsung F490 only to give it to my sister after few months of using. Then I bought that Glofiish that won't glow! Then this HTC's Touch Vivo which I redeemed using my loyalty points from some cards here in Dubai.
Well, I cashed out AED 890 for this with some mileage rewards points but the original price of this PDA/smart phone is around AED 1200 plus.
I did not rate the durability part yet because I have this only in less than a month so I need to observe and hope and pray that this phone lasts as long as my Sony Ericsson P900.
Here are the features of this Smartphone with the Touch Flo system:
Compact size with 2.8 inches QVGA touch-sensitive screen
2nd Generation TouchFlo user interface for quick and easy navigation
micro DS card slot for extra storage
Processor: TI's OMAP 850, 201 mhz
Windows Mobile 6.1 Prof
Memory: ROM 256 MB/RAM 128 MB ( I find this though a little limited because I have many music to play!)
Weight is 110 g with the battery
Dimensions: 104.5 mm (l) x 59 mm (W) x 15.75 mm (T)
Quad band GSM/GRPS/EDGE (band frequenccy is operator dependent)
4-way navigation control with Enter button
Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR/wi-fi/HTC ext USB connectivity
Has 2.0 mp color camera with fixed focus
Built-in Microphone and speaker
ring tone supported formats are AAX, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, QCP, MP3, WMA and WAV
has 40 polyphonic and standard MIDI format ring tones
battery is rechargeable lithium-ion with standby time of upto 270 hours (this one I have yet to find out!) and talk time up to 480 minutes. Well, as for my experience, with normal usage meaning no over-talking and short calls made, my re-charge take around 3 days provided I don't play the music player of the phone. If I do, it takes about 2 days to have a re-charge again. And all this condition is not in silent/vibrate mode.
AC adapter is 100-240 V and 50/60 hz DC output 5V and 1A
So, it's quite a multi-functional smartphone and will be great for business as well. It has the basic appointments, alarms, calendar, calculator, games, picture editor, audio/video player applications which go with the phone.
So far, I am pleased with this simple and yet powerful phone. Although I still miss my P900 badly, I think this phone can actually live up to my expectations, performance-wise.
