Toyota Corolla By Tsmommy06 By tsmommy06 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

A few years ago we were in the market for a new car. We wanted a car that was safe, reliable, would last a long time and got godd gas mileage. Many people, including my brother-in-law who is a mechanic, recommended getting a Toyota.

We visited our local Toyata dealership and the car we liked the best was the Corolla. We took the Corolla out for a test drive and were impressed. It handled well and was a smooth ride. The model was LE and the color of the car was sand drift. It came equipped with an AM/FM stereo with seek-scan, single in-dash CD player, automatic locks and windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and many other features. The Corolla gets 29-32 mpg for city driving and 38-40 mpg highway. For an 4-door ecomony size car, the Corolla has a lot of room. It very comfortably sits 4-5 adults and has a lot of trunk room.

We were able to get the car for only $13,500 because it was a slightly used car. It had previously been used as a rental car. It only had 1500 miles on it and Carfax.com returned a good result.

We have had this car since the fall of '03 and have been very impressed. We've never had any mechancial issues with the car and it now has over 80,000 miles on it. With the rising gas prices, we have been especially impressed with the mileage this Corolla gets. My husband works construction and does a lot of driving. He has been getting an average of 35 mpg. We also recently took a vacation and did mostly highway driving. We got an average of 40 mpg. This was very impressive to us.

I am hoping this car lasts us a long time and I have a feeling it will.

I sure hope mine holds up as well as your's has. Like Chai73 said we just got one a few months ago and so far we really like it. I do regret getting light colored interior though.

I love Toyotas. We had an 88 that when fixed, ran like a 13 year old on steroids. The mileage was outstanding and so was the basic craftsmanship of this car. You have a winner.

I have a Toyota LE too. Compared to other cars in its range, it is more powerful and with just a slight press at the accelerator pedal, the whole car can move very fast.
