Tracfone
By karlawmcdonald onWe wanted to get a cheap but reliable cell phone for our kids, seems like those two words could not be in the same sentence , right? Well we found it in this phone!
I paid less than $10.00 for the phone itself, it came with ten minutes on it. I purchased at $19.00 card, when I activated everything it actually doubled the minutes! You can add minutes on line or buy purchasing cards at most any store now. As long as you add minutes every 90 days your phone will remain active.
My 8 year old son takes this phone everywhere with him and it has held up perfectly! He takes in on the trampoline, on the ATV, bike rides and more! Anywhere he goes this phone goes. My theory was for no more than we paid if it was lost or broke I would cry too hard. I fully expected it to get broke or be dropped in water before anything. Well it has been dropped, as you can only imagine, and it keeps going strong.
The reception is great, loud and clear. Everything is great for what we bought it for! If you are looking for a fancy phone with a lot of features, keep looking! If you are looking for a reliable, dependable, inexpensive phone, this is the phone for you!

Maybe before you get too "criticising", maybe you should hit spell check and use correct grammar?? In all of my time have I ever ran into such a rude person such as yourself. Good day and good luck!
I use Tracfone all the time! It's really cheap (except when you have to continue to buy minutes for those that like to yap) and excellent to use most of the time.
I had a Tracfone, and would agree that they are pretty reliable. The only thing was that we used it when we traveled, and always had to use 2 credits when out of our local area code. For a kid, however, I would agree that this is a good phone!
I'll have to look this one up. We are looking for a durable, cheap phone for our 8 year old son. In fact we were just at Best Buy last night for this very chore....no luck though.
