Transformers was one of the hottest summer blockbusters of 2007. Finally released on HD-DVD and DVD, fans will be very happy with this amazing set. The HD-DVD features 2 discs, including all the extra features present in the DVD edition. The video quality is amazing on this disc. I popped this in my HD-DVD and the picture was stunning - probably the best quality I've seen from all of my HD-DVDs. The sound is somewhat lacking though - due to space constrictions they had to drop lossless audio files. The extra features are very good - I found myself watching all of them. One thing I wasn't happy with was the lack of the "extended edition" of the movie, which was shown in iMax theaters. Overall I'd highly recommend Transformers: The Movie due to the great video quality, great extra features, and a good action movie. I would recommend waiting if you must have the "Ultimate Edition," which I'm sure will be released when Transformers 2 comes to theaters.
