Translating The Name By maximum on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Translating The Name is a Saosin EP. This is the only released CD with Saosin's first singer Anthony Green. In the recording of this EP they have also got in another drummer because the other one was still engaged with his old band. With the mixture of these two elements it gives this EP a completely different sound to the self-titled album that has now been released. It is more full on and heavier. There is screaming which isn't heard much if at all on the newer CDs. This is something that makes me favor this CD over the newer material. It also contains some of the best drumming I have ever heard. They got in Pat McGrath to do the drumming and he has some of the most amazing fills throughout the EP. If you like Saosin's new work and Circa Survive then you will enjoy this CD.
