Travelling With Tots By Nutmeg101 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Between visiting with my family, and visiting with my in-laws, we spend a fair amount of time travelling and sleeping in hotels. I wasn't comfortable with my nearly 3 year old sleeping in a full size bed in the hotels, or at a relative's house. She is still in a toddler bed at home, so I wanted something lower to the ground for her to sleep on. I found this travel cot in the One Step Ahead catalog. (also available online at www.onestepahead.com )

Being the penny pincher that I am, I was hesitant to spend $50 on a bed. Boy, is it worth it. It is the perfect size for kids, it stands only 9.5" high, so I wasn't worried about her rolling off. The cot comes with a fitted sheet and a carrying bag. It folds up small enough that I actually put it inside my larger suitcase to fly with. It is lightweight, sturdy, and fits almost anywhere. This item isn't much to look at, but it definitely does the job well. My daughter loved having her own special bed, and I enjoyed knowing that I wouldn't have to worry about where she would sleep.
