The Traxxas Stampede, a great starter R/C, good for anybody just getting into the hobby. Probably the best vehicle for a new person in the hobby. Why is it the best RTR (Ready to Run) for a person who is just starting out? Well, three things, mostly. Durability, Ease of dissasembly, and Simplicity. These things combined create a very fun and all around easy R/C vehicle to have fun with. The Traxxas Stampede comes with everything needed except a battery and charger. The truck can be bought in three editions. VXL Stampede (Brushless Power, more durability), XL-5 Stampede (Brushed, with 550 motor), and Stampede original (Brushed, 540 motor with XL-1 esc). The one being reviewed is the orginal one. To start off, this thing does not have very good handling due to the high center of gravity, which makes it easy to tip over in turns. But for some people, that is just half the fun. The truck is fast enough to suit any basher's needs, and can be easily upgraded to go faster with a slew of aftermarket parts. Stock parts are cheap, too, so if you ever break anything, you can be assured that it won't cost too much. Overall, this truck is well worth the mone and will allow both new and experienced R/C'ers to have hours of fun.
