I own this mutual fund for my Roth Ira. The manager of the fund is a gentlemen by the name of Brian Rogers. He has managed this fund since 1985 with awesome results. Above I scored the commission area a 5 because this is a no load fund meaning you do not pay a commission to buy this fund if you by direct from T.Rowe Price. By comparison you could easily pay 5-6% in load fee's if you buy a mutual fund from a local bank. Banks love to sell customers the load funds as I mentioned above and the investor is often the loser as he is minus 5-6% right off the bat. Getting back to this particular fund. The manager loves to buy stocks that pay good dividends and this is a big help at boosting the performance of the fund. He also keeps the expense ratio of the fund low which also in turn helps the results. The expense ratio is a low 0.69%. The funds performance has averaged 13.18 % since its inception back on 10/31/85. He also has been adding growth stocks to the portfolio recently as this appears to be an area of the market that seems to be gaining favor among investors. To sum it all up the T.Rowe Price Equity income fund is a quality product with great management and results for many many years.
