TruTech Under Cabinet CD player gets the job done
By Demon_Buttercup onSimply put, I purchased the TruTech undercabinet cd player because I was determined to have one and couldn't really afford one, so I bought the cheapest Target offered.Overall, I am satisfied, but it's the little things that make me wish I would have purchased a higher end, better quality model. One of the things I dislike most is if you have a flat, buttom cabinet with no overhanging lip, the unit does not sit flush on the bottom. They have screw nubs that leave a 1/2" gap between the top of the unit and the bottom of the cabinet. While it does become a convenient spot to stash your cds, it doesn't look so great. The nubs are part of the unit's outside casing, so there is nothing that can be done about them. The sound quality, that's so so.You have to turn the volume up pretty loud on their volume scale to hear it well and that somewhat distorts the sound.I've also had a little trouble with the cd tray, sometimes it does not want to close completely and I have to give it a little tap.I'm happy with everything else about the unit.

Sometimes it is worth it to dish out the extra dough.
Life on a budget... sometimes it's just no fun. Thanks for letting us know what we can expect with this product. But at least you got music in the kitchen!
Sounds like a basic model of the more expensive brands. This is good for what you wanted it for...listening to your cd's. I like your storage idea...too bad there isn't a cover to hide it.
I have seen these at Target & have been tempted to get it....you're right-sometimes it's better to spend a little more to get better quality that will last a long time!
sometimes ya have to wait to get the high end models of the things we want/need. But it's o.k. This one will work for you for now, and when it's time to replace it, you'll probably go for the gusto next time!
Informative and well written. thanks for sharing.
