Turn Up The Heat By Susan Conant By Karen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Turn Up The Heat is a fun murder mystery. Written by mother and daughter, Susan Conant and Jessica Conant-Park, it tells the story of Chloe Carter and chef boyfriend, Josh, and the mystery that ensues when a waitress at Simmer, the restaurant where Josh works as head chef, is found dead in the back of a fish delivery truck owned by Owen, Chloe's pregnant best friend's fiance.

Chloe has her hands full already studying for exams to get her degree in social work and trying to get time alone with her always working boyfriend, but she knows that she must try to find out who killed Leandra, the murdered waitress. She really doesn't feel that Owen is responsible, but when she finds out that Owen has lied about some things, she's not so sure. And there are other suspects on her list as well.

Turn Up the Heat is a very entertaining book. It is one of a series called A Gourmet Girl Mystery. Susan Conant has also written a series of dog lover mysteries (some of which I have had the pleasure of reading), and cat lover mysteries. Her books are fast-paced, amusing and very enjoyable to read.

I would recommend Turn Up the Heat. For me it was a very entertaining book.
