This TV is a standard TV and really easy to use. We have this set up in our bedroom and it is the perfect size for your 'extra TV'. It is compatible with our DISH DVR although very difficult to hook up with DVR. This DISH representative had to figure out which channel to set it up with so that was kind of frustrating. We have owned this TV for almost 2 years and have had no problems except hooking it up with our DISH system. The sound is great for a small sized room and to adjust the picture, brightness and size is easy as well. You can adjust all that on top of the TV or with the remote, they give you the two options. I would recommend this TV for a student or person who just wants a basic TV for an extra room. It is reliable and dependable and the picture is somewhat good. You cant expect much from a 14 inch TV.
