Tylenol For Pain Relief By mom2four on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have recently had many experiences where I needed a pain reliever. I recently had my fourth child by c-section and also suffered from migranes after the birth. I was prescribed hydrocodone for pain relief but found that they made me too drowsy and I was concerned about the possiblity of it passing through my milk to the baby. That is where tylenol helped me immensely. After a few days, I was able to mostly take tylenol for pain relief and I could rest assured that it was safe for breastfeeding. There have been concerns recently that hydrocodone can pass through a mother's milk more than originally thought so I am glad that I took as little as possible.

I also used tylenol during my painful migranes postpartum (along with other meds). Being a nursing mother, my choices to help relief my headaches were limited. Tylenol was a lifesaver at this time.

I highly recommend tylenol for minor pain relief.
