I made a reservation through CarRentals.com for a one-day rental in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 12/27/08. The reservation was with U-Save, a company I had never heard of and now I know why. I was very unhappy with U-Save this weekend. When I called the company to send a shuttle over to pick up my reservation at the Ft. Lauderale airport, I was told there were no cars available. I explained that I had a reservation and the representative was very rude and unprofessional. I explained that I had a reservation and he said that was too bad, that he didn't have any cars. I again explained that I had a RESERVATION and he just said I was out of luck. That there were no cars available. It felt to me like that episode of Seinfeld, where Jerry tries to pick up a car and they tell him they don't have any cars. He is told that they have the reservation, but they don't have the car. He explains that the purpose of the reservation is to hold a car.
Sure, I saved - I ended up with no car! I would recommend avoiding this company if you need a car when you arrive.

How horrible. I would not be renting a car there. Thanks for the warning. We often go to florida and rent a car while we are there.
I wish I would have read this before I had to deal with them this past week. This is a horrible place, and they are the rudest people ever. They told us that we are not trustworthy because we wanted to use a debit card where the money came out of our checking instead of a credit card. They said only people with credit cards are trustworthy! Yeah, because so many people pay their credit card bills!!
Man!, I did so good with this guys that I have the obligation to post my experience, since they took such a good care of me recently. I understand the frustration about the credit card part 'cause I was planing to pay with my debit, but they just asked for the credit card to hold the rental and upon return they took cash and I didn't have to use the card at all, also they don't run your credit unlike other companies that take debit cards so I was very pleased, as far as being unprofessional and rude I found them all very pleasant and sweet from the nice guy on the shuttle bus to the last one who gave me the brand new, 35 miles Nissan I drove to the keys and back with no problem and as far as waiting at the airport I didn't mind 15 minutes for renting a brand new car for $24.00 bucks a day!!!!! so I will always chose them as my BFF car rental company for ever more.
