U2 Achtung Baby By Tony on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

U2 Achtung baby is a fantastic album. It was released in 1991 and has 12 tracks. This album was U2 reinventing themselves after their Joshua Tree experience as superstars.

The album incorporates elements of electronica (about 8 years ahead of its time), mixes in drum loops and samples. All backed by thundering guitars, bass, drums and vocals. Bono is at his vocal best in this album. Hitting those high notes in his signature falsetto is found throughout the album.

Each track is strong and the album spawned many hits including, "One, Myserious Ways" and "Even Better Than The Real Thing." The songs range from deep and somber to loud and blistering.

In my opinion, Achtung Baby is U2 at its creative peak. I don't think they have matched the quality of this album since and doubt they will in the future. A must have album for any fan of U2.
