Ubuntu 8.04 Lts By omegapandor on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Ubuntu 8.04 is upon is. Does linux finally reign supreme over Vista? Well, perhaps not, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Ubuntu 8.04 does not include too many new features over its predecessor, but the one of the new features that is certainly worth mentioning is the built-in wireless for certain chipsets. It does not work perfectly, but a lot of users have reported working wireless using the built-in feature.

One of the advantages of the LTS (Long Term Support) edition is that it will be supported for at three more years of commercial support. That's right - commercial support for a free operating system. If you buy the server edition, you will get ever more.

The Ubuntu community is as active as ever. I see updates all the time, and I don't think things will slow down a bit.

For those of you who have not yet upgraded - upgrade!
