Ultra Downy Fabric Softener By tinkerbell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I like concentrated laundry products. I love fragrance free laundry products! That is why Ultra Downy Free & Sensitive fabric softener is almost the perfect product for me.

I like that Ultra Downy is white. Is there anything worse than those blue fabric softener stains on your clean clothing?

Two things I do not like about this fabric softener:

1. Check out the flower shaped cap. Whose idea was this? Yes, it might be pretty, but it is not functional. It is bothersome. What I did to get around having to use this annoying decorative cap is I saved one of my old caps with the plain functioning design and flat top. As soon as I bring the new softener home, I have to take the new cap off, throw it out, and put the old cap on. One time my husband threw out my old perfectly flat cap and I had to retrieve it from the garbage.

2. Who on earth can see those pour lines inside the cap? If your laundry room is not brightly lit or you have "over 40" eyesight, you will not be able to see those measuring lines, making them pretty useless. Perhaps making the lines visible would serve the purpose it was intended for.

Other than that, I will continue buying white, fragrance free fabric softeners. I only hope manufacturers will stop this decorative cap and complicated packaging craze. Thanks!
