I am disappointed by Uniden and their 20-mile 2-way radio set. The range does not even come close to achieving 20 miles let alone 5. It does allow for multiple channels and a NOAA alert channel. The issues are with battery life, reliability, and reception. The battery life is dismal only lasting a couple hours at most on a single charge. The reliability is bottom shelf because I have already gone through a set after dropping one and it not working after the drop. The worst feature of these radios is their reception and sound quality. I have received multiple arrays of interference from radio stations and even truckers on CB radios. I can't in good conscience recommend this product because of its poor performance.
