Uniden Digital Corded Cordless Phone System By tinkerbell on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

We prefer to have a corded phone in our home for security, but did not want to spend over $75. We tried a few inexpensive models purchased at Best Buy and had to return them for poor quality. We finally settled in on this Uniden DCT-7488 2.4 GHz Corded & Cordless Phone. What we like is the extra handset we are able to use in other areas of the house. You can also purchase extra units to add on to this set. We also like the paging system when we misplace the handset, the paging system is loud and does not stop until the unit is found, which is good. We also like the caller ID in both units. What we do not like at all is the poor sound quality. When you pick up the receivers on the land line and the extra handset, there is much static. Luckily this disappears when you begin to dial. On both phones, the sound is rather tinny. It sometimes sounds as if you are speaking into a microphone. Very odd. The phone functions are a bit difficult to figure out. You definetly need to read the user book. I will say that compared to all the inexpensive inferior corded/cordless sets out there, this one is just sufficient. We would have returned it, but there is not much else to choose from in the corded/cordless sets under $10, so stuck with this one, we are.
