Universal Studios Hollywood By Tinkerbelle22 By tinkerbelle22 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Universal Studios Hollywood is a theme park located in Universal City, California. It is a great place to visit to feel like you are a part of the movies, as well as go behind the scenes.

The main attraction in this theme park is the backlot tour. This 45 minute tram tour takes you through actual movie sets. I especially enjoyed driving on the street where the TV series Desperate Housewives is filmed and seeing all of the houses that the characters live in. Another cool set was from the movie War of the Worlds.

There is a ride based on the Jurassic Park movie, where you go on a boat ride to visit the dinosaurs and then speed down an 85 foot plunge through water. The roller coaster ride based on the movie The Mummy is also lots of fun, going at high speeds forwards and backwards in the dark.

Universal Studios also has several stage shows that showcase many special effects, such as Backdraft and Waterworld.

While it isn't a huge theme park, Universal Studios Hollywood is a great way to feel like you get a backstage peek at some amazing movies.
