Reviewing: U.S. Divers Cozumel Mask, Seabreeze Dry Snorkel, And Proflex Ii Fin
Purchased at: Amazon.Com     Price: $29.99 USD

My husband and I each bought a set to take with us on our trip to the Caribbean last year. I was looking for an inexpensive set, as we would get minimal use out of it. The sets consist of the Cozumel Mask, Seabreeze Dry Snorkel, and Proflex II Fin. The mask and snorkel are one size fits all, and the fins come in sizes S, M, M/L, and XL. I was very unhappy with the mask. The strap has an adjustable buckle system on the side that just would not stay tight. Because of this, salt water would constantly leak into the mask stinging your eyes and making for a very unpleasant experience. The more you struggled to retighten it, the looser it would become throughout the day. It was nearly useless at the end of our dive. The snorkel itself worked well. It has a valve in it so it is easy to clear, and if water splashes in it from up top, it runs out the sides before reaching your mouth. The fins have a closed heel (not adjustable) so ordering the correct size is important. They were nice and large, but they were made of hard plastic which made them difficult to walk in and they tired you out while kicking. I would have preferred they be made out of a softer rubber for more flexibility. Overall, the only thing I had a problem with was the mask. For the beginner, this is a decent set. For the price you pay, it is worth it for the snorkel and fins alone. You can afford to go out and buy another mask. If this is something you plan on using often, I would invest my money in something that is more comfortable and provides better results.

Yeah...masks really need to be fitted to your face personally. One size fits all masks usually always leak. Glad you didn't spend too much on it. Thanks for sharing the info!

Leaking masks can ruin the whole adventure! Thanks for sharing your experience, we'll steer clear of this one.

I agree, a leaking mask is no good, it can completely ruin your snorkeling experience.

I can't even swim so a leaky mask basically seals my fate underwear! Thanks for letting me know to avoid this.
