The last day of school before summer vacation, my son's teacher gave us a print out of some of the things he would be learning this year in 4th grade. One of the main things was that he would have to know all the states and their capitals.

Since he had a bit of trouble learning what few states they had to label on the map last year, I was a bit worried about MY sanity so I started looking for products for him to use this summer so that he would hopefully learn some of the states and capitals and thus have less to cram in during the school year.

A few weeks ago, my son insisted that he wanted go to the Dollar Tree to spend some of his allowance...I keep trying to convense him that the toys there are junk and don't last but I'm afraid it is a loosing battle. Anyway, while he was looking over the toys I was browsing the books. I really didn't expect to find anything but was pleasantly surpised to find this book.

It is GREAT! Every night now we pick a page and he reviews the states and capitals. We are now one week into school and he can recite 14 states and capitals...not a bad outcome for a buck :0)
