USB to SATAIDE Cable
By jayjay1113 onMy hard drive crashed so I brought it to JH Computers to see what they could do. I was told that they would need to reformat but before they do I would need to download all the files I needed from it. Since my tower was dismatled and not working anyways, the tech told me to buy the USB to SATA/IDE cable and connect my hard drive to any other computer so the files I wanted could be downloaded.
The cable is black in color and the length is decent. It came with and SATA/IDE to USB cable, 12V AC/DC adaptor, user manual and even an installation disk for the driver.
Some features of this cable are:
- USB 2.0 interface
- 480Mbps high speed data transfer rate
- 52x CD-ROM supported
- Hard-disk, CD-ROM, DVDD-RW supported
- Plug and play installation
- Supports Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP and Mac OS
- No driver needed for Windows 2000/ME/XP
This cable worked like a charm and we were able to download precious family pictures and other files to our laptop in order to have the hard drive reformatted.

I'm glad you found the right cable to be able to retrieve & save your pictures!
happy you didn't lose your stuff, thanks for sharing
