The sequel to the cult classic, Valkyrie Profile 2 proved to be more than just the average sequel and in many regards was technically superior to the original in many regards. The battle system was revamped to require much more attention to detail, with a superb payoff. The bonus dungeon was also deep and thorough just like the main story.

Valkyrie Profile 2 does have a steep learning curve and will alienate the casual gamer who won't take to the system very quickly. Many fights and environments are unforgiving and unless you know what you're doing you'll find yourself continuously losing or having to grind your characters up to super levels in order to progress. Nonetheless, Valkyrie Profile 2 is an engrossing experience from beginning to end and then some.

If you're looking to take out a chunk of your life in the form of 60 hours or so, Valkyrie Profile 2 is a mandatory pick up.
