This is a great DVD of a great and challenging film. This is not your regular "Tom Cruise" film and people tend to either love this film or hate it. If you love it, this DVD does a great job of expounding on the film with its bonus material.

The story is interesting and though-provoking, taken from the Spanish film Open Your Eyes (which also features Penelope Cruz). Tom Cruise is perfectly cast as the playboy David Aames, while Cameron Diaz plays against type as Julianna Gianni. The story has lots of twists and turns and most viewers probably won't realize what is really going on until the end of the film. Even then, many viewers may be left with questions. The film is extremely thought-provoking.

The DVD features a commentary track by writer and director Cameron Crowe that is very informative. Tom Cruise makes a brief cameo appearance via cell phone. There is also a great mini-documentary that shows Cameron, Tom, and Penelope on their press tour promoting the film. Their enthusiasm for this film is apparent. They are proud of this film, as well they should be.
