Vasoline Petroleum Jelly By RailroadRosie on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Vaseline has been around forever I would imagine, and still people spend tons of money on products that dont work near as good as this does. A jar of vasaline lasts for a very long time and has a multitude of uses.
I use it for chapped lips, great if applied especially at night before going to sleep.
My children are all grown now, However this was used on all of their bottoms for diaper rash. My Oldest son had epilepsy when he was a baby and all of the medication they where giving him caused they worst rash I have ever seen. The hospital would use A&D Ointment or Desinex, But these products did not work, the only thing that did work was when I brought in the vaseline. Its just soothing. If you can keep urine away from a babys already inflamed skin, it stands to reason the rash will get better.
Other things I have used it for include, but are not limited to chapped skin, cracked skin on feet, cuts and scrapes and minor burns.
I have also used vaseline on my pets when they have a cut or scrape. One time a picked up a stray dog that had ears that had been severely bitten by some kind of flies, I put vaseline on his ears twice a day and within a week they were already improving.

It's my favorite beauty secret! If you can stand it, lather your feet and hands at bed time and cover with cotton socks & gloves...your lovely digits will be soft and look 20 years younger the next day. Too bad it hasn;t worked on my mug!
