Vector Energy Bars by Kellogs come four to a box and retail at about $4.36. This is quite a bit more than I usually spend on granola-type products, but I had a coupon, so I decided to give them a try.
I must say that I have a rather neutral opinion of most health foods or vitamin-enriched products. On one hand, I'm all for eating healthy, and am particularily concerned about eating a good breakfast. On the other hand, I'm suspicious of most health products because there always seems to be a downside. I found these bars to be no exception. On the one hand, they contain 24 different vitamins and minerals including Vitamins A and C, B Vitamins, Calcium, and Zinc. On the other hand, sugar/glucose-fructose was the second ingredient listed.
I will say that I was impressed by the taste. Some energy bars I've tried taste a lot like chocolate-covered sawdust. Not so with Vector! They were definitely chocolatey and good.
The texture was also good. Very chewy. Not too dry.
I also need to give these a thumbs up in the area of effectiveness. I decided to try one for breakfast at 7:00 am, and come my lunch appointment at 12:30, I still wasn't really hungry. This is rare for me!
So overall, I was quite impressed with Vector Energy Bars. They're a delicious treat, and satisfied my hunger. However, I do think it is important to be aware of the sugar content, so you can choose wisely when and how often to eat these. Energy bars are a handy way to add vitamins to your diet, but they'll never beat a plate of fresh fruit and veggies!

Not bad on the sodium content! I like the fact you say these are flavorful and moist. I hate eating bars that taste like sawdust. Though the sugar content is high, if you only have one in the morning, it's not too bad. Simply avoid anything else with high sugar content the rest of the day.
I had the opportunity to try these bars a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised by how good they actually tasted...I had some type of fruit ... blueberry was quite prominent but I think it was some kind of mixture...overall although pricey I'd buy these again on occasion. Thanks for the review on these.
Yup, I get it. Quite often there is a downside and it is usually sugar. Good review though.
