Vega Mojave ATV Helmet
By Kakoa onMy hubby bought this helmet for when we ride our ATVs. It is a full face, open helmet with an overhang debris cover on the top. This one in particular has a flat black finish.
The helmet is very well padded and comfortable. It fits tight enough that it will not fly off, but loose enough that it is comfortable and allows your head to breathe. The part that comes across your mouth and chin has a vent for easy breathing and circulation. The debris overhang is adjustable so you can protect your face if you are riding through low hanging trees. We use it mainly for that purpose...we just drop our head and let the helmet deflect the branch so we don't have to take our hands off the steering.
This helmet is very durable and effective...I know this personally! My hubby tried to go up a hill that was too steep and didn't make it all the way. At the very top his ATV had no more power and he felt it start to roll back down. It was about a 25 foot hill in the forest so the ATV wasn't coming back down that well. It started to flip back so he jumped off and tumbled backward down the hill about 15 feet. He jumped up without perfectly safe thanks to this helmet!
The only thing I do not like is that the chin strap is secured by looping it through a double ring. It's not that hard to do, but my hubby doesn't like to take the time to do it.

Good helmets are worth SO much! Thanks for sharing.
I loved your description of this helmet Kakoa. I want Cam to wear one because it sounds so very well constructed.
A good , durable helment is so important! We have invested in quite a few in our time,LOL.
cool safety first! ive always wanted to go atving but was too young look out world i got a permit and am not afraid to use it haha
Ouch! Scary. I used to ride ATVs all the time when I was a kid and now I think "how did I do that!?" Helmets are so important on them though. My dad was a firefighter and he would be called out to a ton of accidents on the trails from no helmet. I'm glad you have a nice safe one to use.Terrific information!
Glad to hear that this helmet works as it was designed. Thanks for all of the great information.
I do not have a need for an atv helmet but I imagine with all the dirt flying, a full face version would work well.
I should definitely let my ATV freak of a friend know about this - thanks for sharing!
I'm glad your husband was wearing this helmet! I'll bet he was too!
Wow I'm glad to hear the helmet protected your hubby's noggin!! I think it's imperitive to wear your helmet when you are riding ATVs or even a bicycle, glad to hear you and your family choose to do this. You can never be too safe as your hubby experienced. Thanks for including pictures too, this looks like a sharp helmet! :o)
