Not being one that always understands every aspect of a printer, yet needing one that is multi-functional, I went out and bought the Epson stylus NX300 all-in-one, printer, copier, scanner, and fax.
My initial reasoning for puchasing this particular model was the value. I paid only $49.00 for this model with all of it's capabilities compared to a more familiar brand with only a single function for a little less, or a three-in-one model of a different brand for a little more.
My second reason for choosing this model was the appearnce. It is a nice, sleek, black model, fairly compact, and, in my opinion, pretty attractive.
I was nicely surprised at how easy the whole thing, including the fax, was to set up. It took my less than 15 minutes to have it hooked up and ready to use.
Upon printing for the first time, I was pleased at how quietly and smoothly the machine runs, and also at how nice the printed paged appeared.
On the downside of the product, it does take four ink cartridges. The black ink cartridge is sols seperately from the color ones, which are sold as a set. The price for replacement cartridges is approximately $50.00. The nice part is that all ink cartridges for this model have the same number, so I do not have to attempt to remember more than one number when it is time for new ink.
Overall, I feel that this is a great product and was a very good value for the money. For a person with a home office, I think that this all-in-one machine is ideal.

the price is amazing but that ink cartridge problem is really where you'll get into expense and hassle =\
I agree the refills are high priced, but I use my printer daily and have not had to purchase new ink yet. I have had it for approximately 4 months and I print at least ten pages daily.
the refill is expensive.....but the print quality is good
