Vicks A Trusted Friend By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
It seems that the older I get, the more I suffer from year round allergies. I am very wary about overmedicating, and cautious about the drugs that I take, as I take many prescription drugs, and don't want to keep adding to the mix. Other than saline solutions, I am extremely concerned about nose drops, due to their rebound effect. But one non-prescription medication that always brings relief from allergy congestion is Vicks Vapor Inhaler. Remember using these years ago? Well, they're still around, and still very effective. They are helpful with allergy symptoms, as well as cold and upper respiratory infections.
For adults, two inhalations in each nostril, brings welcome relief from nasal congestion. You may feel a slight burning or stinging, but it doesn't last long. It should not be used more often than every 2 hours, and like all nasal products, overuse can cause your congestion to become worse. But with Vicks Vapor Inhaler, you don't really have to worry about rebound problems, when used as directed. Some things time cannot improve on, and Vicks Vapor Inhaler has been a lifelong, trusted friend!

My grandparents always had a humidifier going with vicks in it during the winter when I was a just a wee tyke. It's a "go back aroma" for me. I love sensory recall! I still use vicks today. Er, for decongesting, not....memory. Good write Lady!
I always used vicks in my childhood to cure cold and combat chest infections. I still loved the smell of vicks in my memory. very well sharing with as. nice and informatory.
I love it too and same here - grew up around it. My hubby on the other hand, hates it. But I'm the allergy sufferer, so he has to put up with me.
