Vick's Baby Rub By Kristyh By kristyh on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have always been a fan of Vick's vapor rub. I like the smell and the warmth it gives you from using it. I remember my mom and dad using it on me when I was a child. Recently I recieved an email about putting Vick's on the bottom of your feet and then covering it with socks to help stop coughing. I know this sounds crazy but I tried it on my son who had a horrible cough and it actually worked! I have also used it on my kids chest when they were congested. Recently when I was sick I even used the Baby Rub myself and it worked well for me too. This is a must have for any home that has children. Just do not apply it on your body and go into cold weather, you could open the lungs up to be more suseptable to pneumonia. This medicine has no side effects that I know of. It is kind of expensive at $3 for a small 1.76 (50g) jar, but it is well worth the money. This baby rub can be used on babies 3 months and older. I would not recommend using it all the time but just when the baby is congested or coughing and needs it.
