Vicks Vapo Rub Cough Suppressant By Ezriela on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When winter cold season comes, I like to be prepared by arming myself with as much over-the-counter medications as possible. I am rather prone to getting seasonal allergies all year 'round. In any event, I sometimes get clogged up in my nasal passages and get the most awful congestion in my chest, making it difficult for me to breathe. I also start to sneeze and cough and my nose runs, not a pleasant thing to experience. I have used Vicks VapoRub Cold Suppressant since I was a child. Back then, I suffered from occasional bouts of asthma and my mother would rub Vicks on my chest at night, which always brought me great relief. I no longer have asthma, but have come down with colds and/or allergies. It's always good to know that I have a jar of Vicks nearby. I always buy the larger 3.53-ounce size, to make sure I don't run out. This topical analgesic contains menthol and eucalyptus oil, which help to open up nasal passages, help improve breathing and stop coughing. In just the past week, I had to employ its use, since both my husband and I came down with colds. Having Vicks VapoRub on standby helped us both. Vicks VapoRub is a product I trust and it works. Of course, the cost is nearly 8 bucks, but it's worth it just to get the relief it provides.
