Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier

We live in a suburb of Chicago and while it is usually humid in the summer, it is not very humid in the winter. My nose clogs and I have trouble sleeping. I was advised by many to get a humidifier. I had no idea there were so many choices for humidifiers. Did we want a warm mist, cold mist, ultrasonic, filter free. After some research and looking around, I decided on the Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier.

I decided to go with the Warm Mist Humidifier as it just seems more pleasant to me to have a warm mist than the cold mist. The cold mist seems to cool the room down which is not something I wanted to do in the winter.

The Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier has a very quiet operation. In fact, I was only able to hear the humidifier when it was on its highest setting. Even then, I only heard a boiling water sound. The humidifier has two settings - low and high. There is a nigh light on the dial. Vicks also claims that this humidifier produces a pure, bacteria-free vapor. The humidifier also has an automatic shutoff and a three-year warranty. The humidifier has a one-gallon tank and operates for 12-24 hours depending on the setting.

The best thing about the Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier has to be the medicine cup. This medicine cup is located where the steam comes out of the humidifier. You simply add Vicks Vaposteam or Kaz Inhalent and get relief when you have a cold or the flu.

The humidifier is simple to clean. It is important to clean this humidifier at least weekly as mineral deposits form on the heating element. There are products you can add to the water to help lessen the deposits but they still do form.

I highly recommend this humidifier. In fact, I've purchased a total of 3 Vicks Warm Mist Humidifiers - one for each bedroom.
