Vicks Waterless Vaporizer By DreamaJean on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
This is a wonderful product and very helpful when you're down with a cold. I bought this on a whim when I rushed to the store to find cold remedies for my son when he was very congested. He's just an infant and I felt sort of at a loss when I asked the pharmacist where I could find the infant cold medicine and he informed there's no longer any suck thing as infact cold...great I thought, now what do I do?!?!...
I refused to give up and go home emptihanded so I wandered the isles and came across the vaporizer section. I already had a warm steam vapor machine but honestly they make a small room really warm/humid and uncomfortable in my opinion and at the time I couldn't afford a cool mist machine. Then I spotted this little waterless vaporizer by Vicks, and it cost only $20...best $20 I could have spent at the time if you ask me. It's small and very easy to operate, there's also a nice little nightlight and came with 5 Vicks vapopads right in the box. This helped my son a bunch (and me since sleeping more comfortably for him meant more sleep for me!) and what I really liked was it didn't effect the temperature or comfort of the room as a warm steam or cool mist machine would. The pads are quite potent and last up to 8 hours. I used this myself when I was down with a cold and it made all the difference at night when being sick is the most unpleasant. I highly HIGHLY recommend this for moms to have for babies and small children.

I have used similar ones and they are helpful.
I just bought one tonight & put it in my 2 year old's room. I assume it own't turn itself off- but what if I fall asleep or forget to turn it off? The pads only last 8-ish hours. If he sleeps past 6 am, does it become a fire hazard or something? I guess for tonight I just have to be really careful to turn it off- buit I can't find anything online as far as safety instructions or anything. Any experience?
