Vonage Can You Hear Me Now? By Hollie Halverson on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We switched over to Vonage for our home phone service - not liking it so much....
The idea was to save money on our phone service and it does at $24.99 a month can't be beat! However now I refuse to use our home phone and only use my cell now. Here's the problem we have had.
Static and echo on the line. I can't hear people and they can't hear me. We have tried speaking with customer service several times and have gone through all the troubleshooting and can't fix it. I didn't think the folks I spoke to in customer service were the greatest. I had a hard time understanding them and they put us through the same steps we have tried a hundred times.
If you didn't have the static/echo problem I would imagine Voange would be a great deal. I do like the ease of checking my voice mail online. They do offer many services for the low price.
VOIP VOIP Purchased at: Vonage.com Price: 24.99

Looks like they have quite a few good features.
We had this service and didn't have any trouble hearing people. In fact I often forgot it wasn't a regular land line. I didn't like the customer service though...and it was difficult to unsubscribe from them too so good luck on that one :0)
I agree with Alice - why bother having something if you aren't even using it? You could save money right there!! Thanks for being honest, I work for 911 and we have heard way too many bad things about VoiP.
Very uneven service... some people have great luck, others not so much. I don't think we'll be trying it any time soon.
Vonage wasn't good for us and we cancelled.

I woudn't call them good, but for now I guess I'll stick with At&T.
