V Tech V Smile Game Console By Beth Kayhart on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My son received the V-Smile came console for Christmas when he was 2 ½ years old. He took to it very quickly. I like the overly simplified design. There are not a lot of complicated buttons or controls. You plug it into the outlet and TV, plug in the controller and game, and hit the power button. The design is entirely kid-friendly. It has been very durable for us. It has actually held up better than the Playstation 2 that we paid much more money for. The controller is very "chunky" and is easy for little hands to hold onto and control. There are no small buttons to frustrate the child. The most unique feature of the controller is that with the flip of a little button, it can be converted for either a right-handed or left-handed child. This is great thinking on the part of the manufacturer. The company offers games for a variety of ages, starting very young. My son has learned so much from the games that it amazes me. This was a great gift, and we continue to purchase games for him as he advances through the stages of learning. The only downside I can think of is the size. It is a little bit on the large side for my son to pack up and take to grandma's house.
