Walgreens Kids Spf 50 Continuous Spray By Jessica Yamaguchi on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Walgreen's makes a Kids Sunscreen with SPF 50. It is a continuous aerosol spray. It is a clear “No-Rub” formula that is water resistant and gives quick and even coverage for baby's delicate skin.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:
Avobenzone 3.0%
Homosalate 15.0%
Octisalate 5.0%
Oxybenzone 6.0%
Directions say to apply 15-30 minutes before sun exposure. Hold can 6-8 inches away from the body when spraying and apply liberally. DO NOT spray it into face. Spray into the hand and then apply to the face. Reapply after swimming, excessive sweating, or towel drying…or extended sun exposure.
Our Experience
First let me say that this product worked WONDERFULLY preventing my 9 month old from getting sunburn. We had NO problems there.
It was also easy to apply. I love how convenient and fast this is to apply. You just protect the face and spray. That can make a huge difference when you have a wiggly little one!
We did have to re-apply after swimming but even that was not a problem because it's so quick with the spray!
It dries pretty quickly and is non greasy once it dries.
The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that it says in the directions that you can put this on your face…just spray it into your hands first and then apply to the face. We did this for my son and while he was “swimming” the sunscreen started running into his eyes…he was blinking funny and crying. We weren't positive at first that this was actually the problem so my husband volunteered to apply this to his own face, let it dry and then jump in the water and dunk his face/head. When he did this…it ran into his eyes like crazy! Burning and clouding his vision. SO, I DO NOT suggest using this on anyone's face! Even though the directions say you can!
As a body sunscreen…GREAT…just keep it off of the face!
I got this product at Walgreen's; I paid about $7.49 for the 6 fl ounce can

It shouldn't be burning and clouding anyone's eyes Jessie. This is one of those reactions they NEED to hear about. So at least they can place a clear warning on the labelling.
These continuous spray products have worked wonderfully for me! One of the best improvements to sunscreen in quite a while. I hope you found a better option for the face for your son.
