Walgreens Prenatal Vitamins By Sarahlovesmickey on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Even before I got pregnant this time around, I was taking a prenatal vitamin, per the advice of my doctor. I recently ran out of the normal prenatal vitamins I was taking so I picked up a large bottle of the Walgreens Prenatal Vitamins.
The bottle I purchased has 240 vitamins in it and I only paid $17.99 for it. That was a great deal when I was comparing prices. The Walgreens Prenatal Vitamin had the same ingredients as a more expensive brand and actually had almost double the amount of vitamins.
This prenatal vitamin is not nearly has big as some others that I have taken. The smaller size allows me to swallow this vitamin more easily. This vitamin is also sodium free and does not have any preservatives added to it.
The only downfall to this vitamin is that it doesn't have a ton of calcium in it, which is essential during pregnancy, so I also have to take a calcium supplement.

These sound like they are just as good as the ones the doctor prescribes for much less. It is quite surprising that they do not have a lot of calcium as pregnant women need more of this! I especially like the fact that they are not the great big horse pills which I remember taking when I was pregnant many years ago!
These sound great. I was lucky enough to get free prenatals from my doctor. I took them for a long time before I even got pregnant. There was no way I would have paid what they would cost at the pharmacy.
This was one of the brands my OB recommended. I liked that they were smaller than other prenatals. Thanks for sharing!
These are great, I used these when I was pregnant with my first daughter, then I found out our insurance would pay for other prenatal, so I took that route, but if they wouldn't have paid I would have stuck with the walgreens brand.
I would definitely not be selling the health of me or my baby to the lowest bidder. Studies have shown that over 54% of the supplements you buy off the shelf do not even dissolve in your body. Nearly all products you buy off the shelf can't guarantee that what is said on the bottle is actually in there. Essentially if the tablet does not dissolve or you do not get what it says, you are putting both you and your baby at risk. You literally pass the tablet out whole and have literally thrown (or in this case "passed") your money down the toilet. There are pharmaceutical grade products you can buy that are guaranteed to dissolve and guaranteed to have everything they say they have on the bottle. These products are far more nutritionally complete. Yes they cost more, but isn't your baby worth it?
