I tried out one of the Walmart Visa Money Card and was very disappointed. The purchase price is $8.95 plus however much you wanted loaded on it. Then every month you are charged a $4.95 fee just for having it, whether it has a balance or not. Every time we tried to use it, it was declined just because we were a few cents off and there was no way for the cashiers to tell us the exact amount left on the card. I had to keep calling in the number on the card and getting the balance, which every time was much less because of the monthly fees. And it was not accepted at all stores like Visa is supposed to be. All in all, we lost out on $15 due to monthly charges. I immediately cancelled the card and would much rather deal with bank cards or cash. I wouldn't recommend this card to anyone.
