Walmart Photo Printing Service By Tina Lehman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Last Christmas I uploaded about 200 pictures onto Walmart's photo printing site. I was going to make a few small photo albums, and include photos in Christmas cards. The price was relatively comparable to other services in town (Target, Walgreens) so I decided to use Walmart since that is where I do a lot of my shopping.

The first problem I had with the prints is I was under the mistaken impression that your prints will be printed at the store you designate. They are actually printed somewhere else and shipped to your chosen store days later. So, I had to wait four days before picking up my prints. I believe there is an option for in-store printing in some stores, but this was not an option for me and is something I did not realize until too late.

When I did pick up the prints, I was extremely disappointed in their quality. The reds were too red, and many of the photos were too dark. I did not attempt to return them, so cannot speak to what would have happened had I chosen to have Walmart address the issue.

I also like matte prints, which is something Walmart photo printing service does not offer.

I will not use Walmart photo printing service again. I have had much better experiences at other places, and am willing to pay a little extra if I need to.

Too sad. Getting digital prints made can be a real hassle.

I would still try to return the prints to get your money back. I don't know how they stay in business with that kind of quality.

That sounds like a bad experience. Thanks for the information.

I am sorry that you were not satisfies with Walmart, However that's where I develop all my pictures. I am not sure if it's the different locations or what, but mine only prints them in matte. I also hate the shiny kind. I have always done the 1 hour cause I I am too impatient and can't wait for them. I would try and give them another shot.

Sorry about your experience it is ashame to pay that much money and them not be good quality. Our Walmart prints the pictures right at the store and I have never had a problem with the quality. I guess it depends on what store you go to.

I used to use Walmart photo printing --- noticed I said USED! I had a bad experience also. Now my Walmart does offer matte finish, because they is all I got. but the quailty of the photos was poor. The color was off. After that I found a much better place to get my pictures developed. Hope you have found a better place too
