Want To Be A Princess? By WarPainted on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Closet princess? Or maybe you just want to know why this perfume is so popular without forking out the $50 for a bottle? I'm a little of both and was thrilled to see this Sephora Exclusive product on their web site.

Perfumes are always hit or miss for me, the sample smells great and lasts all day but when I buy the bottle it smells more like green beans or rubbing alcohol and dissipates in minutes. Perhaps buyer's remorse but more likely I am beginning to suspect the ole' bait and switch scam in perfume land.

When I saw the $25 "perfect" wand I had to get it. I don't ever get through a entire bottle of perfume before I get bored with it (or decide it smells gross) but the rollerball end of this wand is the perfect amount for me to enjoy the scent. I figured if it did smell awful I always had the lip gloss end to enjoy as a consolation prize.

I'm thrilled with the purchase, the scent and the lip gloss so far! While I don't feel that the perfume lasts as long as the sample, because of its travel size design, I can just take it with me. The lip gloss end is princess passable, looks like it has more of a glittery sheen in the bottle, but you can't really see it when it goes on. More of a nude/nutral gloss than a pink sparkly affair, which actually makes it better for most people.

I gave it less than princess perfect rating because the overall wand is actually pretty long, longer than most checkbook-length wallets so it won't work in all purses. The scent is also not very long-lasting, but for that price you can afford to reapply now and then.

From Sephora's website, the description of the scent:

Notes: Water Lily, Lady Apple, Mandarin Meringue, Golden Apricot Skin, Ripe Pink Guava, Tahitian Flower, Wild Tuberose, Dark Chocolate, Pink Frosting Accord, Precious Amber, Forbidden Woods, Royal Musk Captive, Chiffon Vanilla.

Style: Sheer. Tropical. Delectable.

Great way to sample a scent. The reason so many of todays scents fail to true out or last is they rely excessively on artificial aldehydes, accounting for the alcohol like reaction on many people. The classics: White Linen, Joy, Knowing and the Chanel's, all are rich in the phenols extracted from the various blooms used to create the scent. The difference is huge!
