Want to capture video? Use SnapzProX!
By fnordian onI frequently use short audio-video clips in the courses I teach on language in society, and I have tried a number of programs designed to capture segments of video from. While many of these were unreasonably expensive video editing programs, the best was SnapzProX, shareware made by Ambrosia Software. The free version of the program allows you to capture a still picture or video of any selected portion of your computer screen; when you upgrade to the full version you also get the option to create videos (either from video playing, e.g. from a DVD, or from what you are doing on the screen. You could use this feature to create a tutorial, for example). You can create almost any kind of image file, a PDF, an mpeg, etc. On top of all this, SnapzProX is so much FASTER than any other product I've used. Even though my computer is not top of the line, it creates mpegs in no time flat.

I agree with you, although one of my friend experience a difficulty to run this Snapz in Mac OS, but other major OS can run it fastly. nice choice
