Reviewing: Unknown Porcelain Water Pitcher And Bowl

In many ways, I wish I had lived long ago. I'm so drawn to items from the past. I really enjoy the conveniences of modern technology, but I wouldn't miss them if I had never known about them.

One of the items I love is the old water pitcher and bowl sets. I see them in thrift shops, gift shops and antique stores. There are many reproductions, probably because the look still appeals to so many people. Maybe if we actually had to use them as they were used long ago, we'd feel differently about them.

This set is not a large one. It is fairly simple, but has some carving that adds decoration. It came filled with daisies and was used as a vase. It's really pretty with flowers in it. At one time, I filled it with various colors of Tootsie Roll Pops. All the various colors looked cute in there and resembled a bouquet of candy. The upside is that they don't die, though they do have to be replaced.

The set is porcelain. It's pretty and dainty and sits in my guest room with other older items, like a hand-made quilt made by an elderly relative. When I go into that room, I feel like I'm stepping back in time, if only in my mind.
