We All Need Boundaries By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This book has sold over 2 million copies, and it's easy to see why. All of us have trouble setting boundaries in our lives. We don't know when to say no, and as a result, we find ourselves overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, and resentful. When we take on too much, or feel responsible for too many people and activities, everything quickly spins out of control.

In the physical realm, visible boundaries are everywhere. There are fences, hedges, walls, and property lines. If only they were that easy to see in our lives. But we set boundaries with our words and actions. We have to let others know where we stand, and what we are willing and not willing to do. There are times when, just like in the physical world, we have to put up a "No Trespassing" sign in order to protect ourselves from danger. Sometimes we have to physically or emotionally remove ourselves from people in our lives who are hurtful, abusive, or destructive. But setting limits is not always easy. And yet, when we don't set limits, we feel like a prisoner. It's a dilemma, isn't it?

Boundaries is a book that will help you learn to take control of your life. It is written from a Christian perspective, and can teach you how to avoid guilt and over commitment. There are so many rewards to setting appropriate boundaries, but some of us just need a little help.
